Files shared with Anyone sometimes prompt users to request acccess to the file
Hi kvanmeveren,
When you say you are using the free version of OneDrive, are you using OneDrive for Business (e.g. contoso-my.sharepoint.com) or OneDrive consumer (e.g. onedrive.com). I would also suggest creating a support ticket (regardless of which) for additional help here.
Do the links work in a in-private browsing session? Thanks!

Really pleased to find this thread and hopeful that a resolution is found.
We're a school and have the same experience with files. As others have said, we've not been able to work out any particular pattern in which users generate the 'Access request' messages from 'Anyone with the link' shares.
Happy to contribute any logs or other information if you're still on the hunt for data. We've some links live now which are generating those messages.
If it's a useful contribution, we've found a similar issue with internal SharePoint site sharing - where we allow access to all but a seemingly random selection of users have to request access.
- ClarePPFeb 28, 2021Copper ContributorI am also having this issue. I have embed links on my website and maybe 1 in 50 will be prompted to enter their login details to access when the downloads should be available for all.....so posting here in the hope there is an answer soon

I still regularly have this issue when sharing the link in this way which is very frustrating.

adminsheffieldnazaren At this point there is still no fix. I opened a case with Microsoft (22594726) and they actually sited this thread. They need logs, but the problem is not reproducible. Here is what they said:
- As per the collected information and the Microsoft Techcommunity article it seems currently there is no workaround or fix released for this specific issue.
- We have done testing on internal sites and it seems issue is not reproducible if the users access Anonymous link in InPrivate or Incognito window which is a recommended way to access the Anonymous link.
- We would also suggest to use SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business permissions instead of using the Anonymous links to bring more security on shared content.
- Going ahead we have already shared the steps and details of this issue with our internal team and if in case there is any fix or update available in future we will keep you posted with that update.

wanting to share onedrive links on the website.
Am sharing them as sommat like "access to all",
But they are asking people to log in.
There is a stream in this, but no final fix. That was in November 2020, has anything been sorted since then?
