Can't connect to OneDrive from my PC!
Your error 0x8004de40 means:
"There was a problem connecting to OneDrive" — specifically, it can't establish a secure TLS connection with Microsoft's servers.
Check Your Internet Security Settings via Internet Options
Even though TLS is enabled, other settings might block OneDrive.
Press Win + R, type: inetcpl.cpl
Go to the Advanced tab
Ensure these are enabled (✔):
Use SSL 3.0 (optional for legacy only)
Use TLS 1.0 (try enabling it temporarily)
Use TLS 1.1
Use TLS 1.2
Use TLS 1.3
Click Reset advanced settings (bottom right)
Apply and reboot
Reset OneDrive Completely
This clears OneDrive’s saved state and forces a fresh reconnect.
Run this in the Run dialog (Win + R):
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
If OneDrive doesn’t restart after 1–2 minutes, start it manually:
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe
Disable Proxy (if active)
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy
- Turn everything off (especially if “Use a proxy server” is enabled)
Also check via Command Prompt:
netsh winhttp show proxy
If it shows a proxy, reset it:
netsh winhttp reset proxy
Maybe some third-party security software (e.g., Kaspersky, Bitdefender) block OneDrive connections.
Try disabling your antivirus temporarily and check if OneDrive connects.

Thank you so much for your answer! I have re-enabled SSL 3 and TLS 1.0 and will let you know how it went.
At the moment, Onedrive does open when turning on my PC but takes AGES to connect to my account.
