Allowing External Access
Hi guys,
I want to allow guest external access for the folder. I followed the guide and video posted by Microsoft:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/solutions/collaborate-on-documents?view=o365-worldwide
I changed the setting in the SharePoint settings, in the identity settings, and I even changed the default permission from edit to view.
The only change that went through is the default permission. When I go to my OneDrive and share something, the default is now view; however, I still can't share anything outside my organisation.
Can anyone help me find out why?
Does it take time for the settings to be pushed?
Hope someone can help me.

In most cases, the change to allow external sharing in OneDrive and SharePoint should take effect within an hour, but sometimes it can take longer depending on your organization’s policy or admin setup. It’s also possible that your global or SharePoint admin has restricted external sharing at the organization level, which would override your settings. I’d suggest double-checking with your Microsoft 365 admin to make sure external sharing is enabled for both SharePoint and OneDrive at the tenant level. Once that’s confirmed, your settings should start working properly.
