Customer Insights and interacted people
Hello all!
The following situation:
We installed the new Customer Insights at a customer of ours. The license used is the Customer Insights Attach. In addition, the customer has appropriate Dynamics licenses to be eligible for the Attach license. There are no AddOn's booked yet.
According to the Licensing Guide, the base license includes 10,000 interacted people. However, in the customer system we have 20,000. There is a footnote in the Licensing Guide that indicates that you actually get 10,000 more. But is that really the case? Or do they get contacts added through other licenses as well? How come there are 20,000 contacts there?
Thanks for the help!
You began by stating that the licensed used is Customer Insights Attach, then you stated that no Add-Ons have been booked yet, so I'm not clear on your scenario.
Are you saying that the customer has not purchased the Add-On capacity, yet the already have 20,000 Interacted people instead of the base of 10,000? If so, unfortunately, I cannot access any account information for customers, and you may have to submit a support ticket to ask about the total of Interacted People showing for your customer.
Otherwise, I can confirm that Customer Insights is licensed per tenant and includes entitlements to install both the Customer Insights - Journeys and Customer Insights - Data applications in up to four different environments & also includes a base capacity of 10K Interacted People for engagement via the Customer Insights - Journeys app, per pg.29 of the D365 LG. The Add-On capacity adds Interacted People based on the table in my snapshot below:

I've just been informed of a Teams channel designed for Partners to ask questions about Customer Insights - D365 Customer Insights & Marketing - Partner Voice Program | General | Microsoft Teams
Hope this helps!

- Nick_BeacroftSteel ContributorDid the customer have Marketing and have transitioned to the new Customer Insights license model?
In this case, it may be the capacity available via the old Marketing license still appears as capacity, in the new guise of interacted people, and this extra 10k will drop once beyond its cancellation timeframe.
Or is this the customer's initial activation of Customer Insights?
The footnote in the licensing guide is only to indicate additional capacity purchased is added to the base 10k.- Michael_LagemannCopper ContributorHi Nick,
it was the initial activation with the new Customer Insights.
