Unable to find contact when initiating chat from existing outlook contact
Half of my Outlook contacts cannot be searched for in Teams. I have also tried to initiate a chat from within the Outlook contact and I receive this message:
"We weren't able to find that contact
Try typing a name in the To field above to find the person you need."
Why is Teams so cumbersome to use? I am extremely frustrated having surfed the forums for help.
I am having the same issue right now.
We just migrated 13 GoDaddy based Microsoft accounts over directly to Microsoft - we had to bring them through the default new Microsoft business domain "onmicrosoft.com" first and then assign the transferred domain to them to restore the emails to their original usernames.
Now the microsoft team's presence is not syncing with Outlook presence and during troubleshooting we also saw that the email account associated with the IM feature in outlook contacts is incorrect and it says unable to initiate chat/find this user in teams.
