The use of Planner with Teams and restrictions
Good morning!
I am looking for someone within the development team that can help resolve an issue that restricts the use of Planner within Teams.
Here is my scenario:
Currently, you can only add a Planner tab to a Teams channel if everyone within that team has access to the Team, Channel, and Planner.
My Teams needs are different. I need the capabilities to have a Team with a group of owners and restrict channels to individuals that may not have access to the remaining Teams channels. Within those channels, I need the ability to add a Planner board that is accessible to everyone in that channel. That option is locked. It's possible with many other apps, but not Planner. The only solution we have is to create an individual Team with individual channels for each scenario which is very limiting and cumbersome.
Can we get help from the Teams and Planner folks to overcome this hurdle?

- JennMurrahCopper ContributorThis is seriously a must fix item for Teams. I work in a large organization within a much larger company. We should be able to have a Team for the whole Org, and the smaller teams within each have their own channel that can have its own planner tab that is only visible to their team. Having a separate team for each group is cumbersome and leads to disuse of the features altogether.
904_James_Warner I think this post is another way of saying "When can I add a Planner board to a private or shared channel", I would suggest adding your votes and comments to this existing feature request - Enable Planner in Teams Shared Channels · Community (microsoft.com).

Thank you, Paul_Keijzers
I went down the rabbit hole and gave this a great deal of consideration. It doesn't accommodate the same level of interaction as Planner without a great deal of backend work. I also didn't like having to reinvent the wheel for each view.
Hopefully, the over 11,000 responses to adding Planner to private channels will have some weight.
