Teams/Excel - date format

While working on Excel through Teams the it will default the date format to English (US). However the system is set to English (UK) and the Teams language is English (UK) so there is nothing telling Excel to default to English (US).

This in itself is not an issue however it means that formulas involving dates are not working correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.
