Teams

When I started to use Teams I first made a team with my family members to practise. Then I made teams for my clients, which shouldn't see the conversations with the other teams. For some reason, all the other teams were somehow connected to the first "rehearsal team" I made, which made them possible to see the names and conversations of the other teams. As my work is based in absolute confidentiality, this was a big issue. I did delete the first  "rehearsal team", but just need to be very sure this doesn't happen again.  That is why I would like to know what happenede in the first place.

  • This is because the first team in free Teams is an org-wide team meaning all users will be part of this automatically!
When you create a new team you can choose what kind of team you want. Just create a private team and you can be sure that members won’t end up there by chance
