Teams Microphone Audio

Starting a new thread because I think it warrants more attention:

Using a Dell laptop with a built-in array mic, Teams Desktop app mic audio is very, very low. All other system apps, including Teams in a web browser, reflect the mic volume settings configured in the settings app and audio device control panel. I've seen a lot of threads around this on the web but no real solutions besides "tricking" teams by using a virtual audio cable. Has anyone found any real success in stopping teams messing with mic volume?
