Teams Meeting Rooms with On Prem Exchange & AD
Hello,
We're looking at a Logitech Tap solution that uses Teams Meeting Rooms for scheduling and managing meetings.
From what I've learned, Teams Meeting Rooms relies heavily on M365, and currently we are only using M365 for Teams and MS Office licensing. We have Exchange 2016 and AD on prem only at the moment, though we are planning to migrate to Entra (with AD sync) and Exchange Online over the next few months.
Would we be able to use this Teams Meeting Rooms device with our current on-prem server and AD, with our users being able to schedule meetings through their calendars?
Thanks
Hi MauryJ,
Teams Meeting Rooms and On-Premises Exchange:
You can integrate Teams Meeting Rooms with your existing on-premises Exchange Server. However, be aware that your Exchange environment might need adjustments to ensure seamless integration with Teams Rooms devices, particularly regarding the visibility of these devices in the Global Address List (GAL).
The deployment guide provides solutions to address this issue:
Microsoft Teams Rooms - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft LearnDelegate Access:
When delegating someone to create Teams meetings on your behalf, keep in mind that if both users have on-premises mailboxes, the meeting must be scheduled through Outlook for desktop. Additionally, the presence of the Microsoft Teams Add-In in Outlook is necessary to initiate a new Teams meeting.
