Teams locked out

I have a Teams member whose account is locked and who does not remember his password.  He emailed himself the code and entered it and it was accepted.  The next step was texting a message to his phone but after entering his phone number, the submit button is unavailable (still grayed-out).

 

Any ideas?

  • Are you using teams free?
    Do this member have a organizational account or a personal one?

      It's the free teams.  He's trying to login with the account he's always had with Teams.  Worked ok until today.  He tried connecting a few times and then it locked him out.  He can use "Forgot Password?" and he gets a code but when he's asked to provide a phone number to text to, the submit button never enables.
