Teams is KILLING my Mac Every Day
- Jul 14, 2022
Hi everyone, we're pleased to announce Microsoft Teams for Apple Silicon, which on the M1/M2 ARM builds, will have significantly faster performance than what's seen during the Rosetta emulation today! Here's our official roadmap ID for this release; Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365. More on this can be found here; Announcing Microsoft Teams optimized for Apple silicon - Microsoft Tech Community.
Users should see a significant performance boost with this release. And for the Intel Macs out there, we're still thinking about you! We have some large performance fixes coming that will help improve overall performance for the Intel version as well.
Thanks,
Sam Cosby, Teams Engineering PM
Thanks,

MS Teams v1.4.00.34557 3/4/2022.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch Mid 2014, CORE 7i, 16 Gb RAM with SSD.
Before OS upgrade, MS Teams was workable even with extra screen and external USB webCAM, but now the MS teams is running too bad.
thanks

JDLSantos I have also just upgraded to MacOS Monterey and I am running Teams 1.5.00.4683. The problems have gotten far worse than ever.
I am running
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
Processor 2.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB
What is the fix?
My company is providing a newish (2020 model) Mac but I'm worried that won't be enough to fix the problem.

Microsoft
Hi there - would you be available for a call next week to discuss your painpoints and issues? Please DM me if you can, thanks.- gcstrMar 08, 2022Copper ContributorAt some point, it's pretty clear that Microsoft wants to send a message to everyone who is not using Windows, making our lives miserable in a daily basis.
I have Mac and Linux (both provided by my employer) and MS Teams experience in both platforms are ridiculously bad. I can't use daily my personal Windows machine to work because of compliance, but a simple and old laptop running Windows, has better performance than newer Macs and a powerful PC running Ubuntu.
Our company adopted MS Teams about two years ago, the performance degraded significantly since then, while running it in Windows still smooth.- tmorell105Mar 08, 2022Copper Contributor
gcstrYou are absolutely right, the Linux version is just a joke.

HiSam Cosby don't know if you noticed, there are quite a few of us on here who would be happy to discuss pain points and issues. Fix Teams for the mac. I'm actually beginning to refuse projects with clients who insist on using Teams. It's far too frustrating, and I have incurred costs - not worth it.
