Teams guest and subsequent sharepoint online access
Hi All
I am hoping someone can help me clear up my confusion.
If I add a guest to a team what permission group do they fall into on the Sharepoint side?
Example in Teams you have Owners, members and guest.
I add a guest.
Then in Sharepoint you have Owners, members and VISITORS.
Does a guest in Teams fall into the VISITORS group in Sharepoint?
Also by default should a guest in Teams be able to edit content in the Sharepoint library of the team?
When I add a guest to teams they are to edit and create content in the attached sharepoint library even thou the permissions on the library says " SomeTeamName Visitors" can view only.
#Confused
For Members and guests in Teams they get added into <Site name> members group. The permissions do not distinguish between the 2.
Yes, a guest should by default be able to edit the content in SharePoint.

Hi Andrew. Thanks for the quick reply. You are awesome!!
I understand what you are saying.
But then what is the purpose of the (site name) visitors group in Sharepoint??
