Teams contact search

User has exchange online mailbox and Teams coexistence mode is teams only.

When use search a contact, Teams is not showing exchange mail contacts. Is this by design or need a setting changes..?. Exchange address book is showing all mail contacts.

This is by design from what I know and experience. Teams contacts are completely independent from Exchange Address book contacts, unfortunately. I opened a ticket with MS and they told me the above and I can confirm.

If you had any contacts lists/groups in Skype for Business prior to going into Teams-Only mode, those would be migrated automatically but that's it. So, short answer is Exchange/Outlook contacts will not show up in Teams.

    Thanks!

It has never worked for us. I know it worked in the SfB world but not in Teams. This is a very basic feature and Microsoft needs to get this feature baked into Teams to make it easier for orgs to manage Teams contacts from Outlook or Exchange.
