Teams Avatar missing in App
- Jun 15, 2020
Paul_Savenije My problem is solved.
I had to call the support for another problem. Solving it made all the avatars come back in MS Teams.
My account had a problem with its roles.
I'm one of the admnistrators of my organisation, another admin messed up my roles. I had ALL roles activated.
One of them is "General Administrator" wich already gives all privileges.
Activating "General Administrator" + all the others roles caused a bug in MS Exchange.
To solve the problem, the support guy made me ask another admin to do these steps in the users administration panel:
- Open my user details.
- In the roles part, make my user a simple user (with no admin privilege) then save.
- Make my user admin back again, then choosing only the "General Administrator" role, and save.
This solved all my problems, wich were:
- Redirect loop while trying to connect to MS Outlook and MS Exchange with my browser.
- MS Teams App default avatars for all users and groups.
- MS Teams App critical slowdowns and crashes.
Hope this helps 🙂
Paul_Savenije Can you change it from Teams desktop to that one you have since it should sync across the Teams (desktop & Web) and also Sharepoint site.
So do change it from Teams desktop to your standard one and it should sync with all.
here is how to do it, Teams > My Playground > Manage team > Settings > Team picture > Change picture
please share your experience and comment if that resolves your issue.
Hi,
I try the following steps
1) Manage Team (My Playground is my test team)
2) Click on the picture to change it
3) Delete the Picture
4) Click Save - the MP Initials reverts to the Gray People Icon
5) If I Try Upload - the picture shows
6) Click Save and it reverts to the Gray icon
All my Teams Icons are the gray icon, same for all the people pictures they are also a gray icon.
On a Browser (Edge/Chrome/Firefox - all 3 tested) the Team Avatars and People Avatars show up correctly. Other users in the Tenant are not affected. I have deleted the Cache (All the files and folders in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams\).
Any other Thoughts?
Paul
- PDostiyarMay 27, 2020Bronze ContributorHave you also try uninstalling MS Teams and removed all the app data and settings from registry.
Reboot and reinstall MS teams, This could resolved this issue.- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaJun 12, 2020Copper ContributorIt's nice to get a lot of ideas, but this kind of solution suggestion leads to the next recommendation being: "If you reinstall windows, it might solve the problem.".
Of course, that doesn't work either. Whether it might help if the user buys a new computer? - Paul_SavenijeJun 01, 2020Copper Contributor
PDostiyar I have tried a number of times and variations of removing and reinstalling Teams. Issue is not resolved yet.
