Teams Android - Any way to change the notification sound?
I'd like to be able to distinguish between my Teams notifications and all my game, calendar, etc notifications but I'm not seeing anywhere within Teams where I can change that sound it uses. Is there any way to do that within Teams or somewhere else within Android itself anywhere?

Firstly, I own a OnePlus so there might or might not be feature/step differences.
Open Teams App -> Settings -> Notifications -> General activity -> Chats -> Chats (again) -> Advanced options -> Sound -> Choose your pick!

I agree with "apachian", in my case i have a Samsung S22+, I tested, and it works:
Go to Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced Settings -> toggle "Manage notification categories for each app" to activate the categories option. Then go back and select 'apps notifications', search for Teams and click on notification categories. You'll see a lot of "toggle options". Click on the word "Chat" (not on the toggle button) and then on "Audio" to choose your sound. You can do the same thing for calls.Ok this thread is old. It's 2025 and I am using a Samsung S25 Ultra, with a corporate Teams account. There is no way on this thing to change the notification sound to a sound of my choosing. None of the suggestions above work, neither in the phone's Apps notification setting, nor in Teams itself. All I can do is turn the notifications on or off.

I use Samsung S25 Ultra and i know the pain but finally i cracked it.
Go to Settings --> Notifications --> Advanced Settings --> Toggle "Manage notification categories for each app"Once done go to your app notifications and select notification categories.
For me it's currently in Notifications> Custom. There you can adjust notifications sounds for anything that generates a notification.
- Can we do change the message notification sound on Mac? or Windows?
- I have found a way to change the sound for all of Teams. It's still somewhat granular, but I think it's what you're looking for. (Android 11+ and should work on other versions)
Profile icon/photo > Settings > Notifications > Configure Notifications
All Notifications is just a toggle, but the others have sound options. Hi there

I hope this helps since I am a year and a month late to this post.tested on 29th july 2025, and i dont see the "general activity" option. Only working solution for me is to select custom, and change the sound on each option.

Hi Mike. On my Android (v9) I do this by going to Settings > Apps & Notifications > Teams > Notifications, and then by clicking on the relevant Teams feature. Hope it works for you, too. //Magnus

CoachOffice365 That page lets me turn notification on or off for various things, but I don't see anywhere I can tell Teams to use a specific sound different than every other app that gives me notifications.
Kelemvor333 Ok, I see. What if you click on the specific feature you want to change the sound for (in that list where you feel you are stuck)? I am able to do that, e.g. for Chats, and I then get to set the notification sound. Does this work for you?
