Teams Adds Explicit Consent for Recorded Meetings

A new setting in the Teams meeting policy allows Microsoft 365 tenants to dictate that meetings organized by some or all users must gain explicit consent from users before they can be recorded. The new control is intended to help address privacy concerns that some users might have. This article describes how to apply the policy setting and its impact on meeting participants.

Is there a way to see the acknowledgement by a third party (ie, outside our company)? Should such a thing ever be required as 'proof' for some sort of legal purpose?

    • The only acknowledgement is the fact that the person remains in the meeting. You can check the attendance report for that.

Thanks!  The attendance report was exactly what I needed. A little hard when you need compliance and people have left the company, so I'm working on processes.
