removing an unused account from the welcome screen
- Apr 30, 2024
Hello tatiana_larina,
in the new Teams, previously logged in accounts are displayed for selection after you log out.
To remove the users from the new Microsoft Teams, you can do the following.
- Click on the Windows button > Run
- Run one by one path from this list and delete evrything in the folder:%LocalAppData%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe
%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneAuth
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\TokenBroker
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\IdentityCache
This will remove all the signed-in users (including the user you want to remove).

Kindest regards,
You are a star!
This worked for me.
My specific issue was that I used to have a shared email address with my now ex wife, and everything on the laptop was originally setup under that microsoft account. I since moved everything to my own email account and later deleted the old shared microsoft account. The old account would continue to appear in the MS Teams welcome page and I couldn't find a way to remove it from the list since I no longer had access to that account to be able to sign-in to it and disconnect it.
Lots of online recommendations duplicate the same stuff about Settings>Accounts and Credential Manager but these weren't fixes.
Your suggestion, however, has fixed the issue for me and it was so quick and easy.
Thank you.
