removing an unused account from the welcome screen
- Apr 30, 2024
Hello tatiana_larina,
in the new Teams, previously logged in accounts are displayed for selection after you log out.
To remove the users from the new Microsoft Teams, you can do the following.
- Click on the Windows button > Run
- Run one by one path from this list and delete evrything in the folder:%LocalAppData%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe
%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneAuth
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\TokenBroker
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\IdentityCache
This will remove all the signed-in users (including the user you want to remove).

Kindest regards,
This worked for me on 8/22/2025. I had the primary issue that I couldn't get past the Welcome to Teams screen, which apparently was because there was a non-work account listed (or something). I ran your steps, and there was still a Gmail account listed on the Welcome screen, but it did let me add the correct account and log in. Thank you!
