Random Channel Generation

I am having a small issue with our company Teams. Every now and then a new channel gets automatically created in various teams. The channel always has the same name as another existing channel in that team but it is in all-caps. When opening this new channel you get an error message saying "We’re having trouble loading your messages. Try refreshing" (refresh of course does nothing), and the Files tab does not load anything.

I feel it is an empty channel with no "back-end" sharepoint site to draw from because you cannot even manage the channel and there are no analytics. You also cannot delete the channel, after a while (days) they just go away on their own.

Has anyone else seen this issue? What could be causing it?
