Prevent: in-meeting invites / joining meetings days before & after
I work at a school so we've disallowed students from voice/video calling and chat, else they'd be calling staff at all times of the day just to say hello / be annoying. However, it appears that students can invite anybody to a meeting via the participants panel in a meeting - even if they're only attendees. (1) Is there a policy I've missed to disable that?
..because that gives them the ability to effectively call any member of staff, because they can go to the calendar and join a scheduled meeting days before it takes place so they're the only one in the meeting, then just invite anyone they like.. so (2) is there a way to prevent students joining meetings before / after they've occurred? Am I missing something?
TLDR: Is there any way to prevent people joining a scheduled meeting early/late, and is there a way to prevent them inviting people to a meeting they're in via the participants window?

This is a huge deal. There's no way we can use Teams Meetings with students until this is fixed. Any time you add "For Education" to a product name, the developers should understand that to mean "with loads of added controls designed for teachers to benefit students but under the assumption that they will want to ruin everything at any opportunity." Granted, that would be a much less catchy product name.
Mark Burland I haven't used Teams for Education but there are many features for education in this edition of Teams that are not in the regular Teams edition, like Grades and Assignments.
The feature that only allows the organizer of the meeting to bypass the lobby will roll out in June. So if this was the only thing you were waiting for to start using Teams you don't have to wait so much longer. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?featureid=64343
BTW, there are many schools using Teams for Education even if this is not "fixed", so maybe there is a way to use Teams with students.
Hi,
Attendees in a meeting can invite others users into a meeting. If you want this changed the best way is to create a uservoice and request this. https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/
Currently there is no wait to stop users for joining or interact in the meeting before it starts. There is a lobby setting for each meeting but unfortunately all internal users will always bypass the lobby. There is an uservoice request asking that internal users have to wait in the lobby too, that might help you a bit. Vote for that uservoice.
