Open files in desktop app is ignored by search results
I want files to open in the desktop apps, so I set it so in the preferences.
One problem: search within teams is ignoring this setting and opens everything in the browser.
Also, there is no way to determine (or directly open) the folder the file is stored in, because Teams only shows the team and channel (and not the folder path).
I know Microsoft isn't really from consistency in their software but this is beyond me. Can I fix this??

HelloRenzohan
welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Recep I'll be happy to help you today.
I understand that Open files in desktop app is ignored by search results.
it's because sharing links no longer Teams based links, they are full SharePoint links because Teams has fully aligned to the SharePoint/OneDrive sharing experience. When you used to do sharing links, it was designed to go within Teams. A sharing link today will be something like 'https://your/.sharepoint.com/:f:/r/sites/Name' which will automatically trigger to go via a browser session because SharePoint is browser based.
