Moving from skype to teams does not migrate my chat history

Helllo i had the same problem, and finally I found solution. I logged in to skype account and requested all files , you can also rquest chat history. I mainly needed videos and photos. After one hour on webpage I got link to download, inside was all my media.

When I initially did the migration, it looked as though all my chat history appeared immediately. Now I've returned to find nothing. I will try the suggestions above. Thank you, guys.

I have followed the links to move from Skype to Teams but one of my chats when I open Teams is trying to loads chats and doesnt achieve it and the screen gets ‘stuck’ with it trying to load. Has happened for several weeks now and cant use Teams chat until the chats finish loading - they seem to be loaded but when I open Teams chat they start ‘reloading" all over again. I was perfectly happy with Skype by the way.

Neither chat history nor contacts are migrated no matter what you do, another great F UP by MS.

I'm having the same problem it is absolutely horrible why they would discontinue Skype and move it to teams is beyond me, it's so bad that me and my friends who use Skype are going to go to Whatsapp because it's a lot easier than this garbage. What says it's transferring my stuff and nothing transfers, then on Skype I get a message that says go to teams now I click that and absolutely nothing happens the biggest hunk of garbage ever seen.

If you want to get ALL your chat history, you have to join "teams insider programme" BEFORE you enter any chat. All chats you entered after migrating from Skype and before joining the Insider Program will be left with no chat history. To fix this you need to clear you MS Teams data in the app properties or delete that specific account migrated from Skype and then migrate again from scratch, remembering what was written at the beginning

My recent chats sync, but none of my skype contacts.

The only contacts i have in teams are from my phone and random people that i don't know  (wtf?)

I'm subscribed to teams inside.

Also, the problem with recent chats is that the names do not correspond with then names in skype,

so it's not always clear who is who.

And why can't we personalise then names in teams, like we can in skype?

I really don't mind the switch to teams, as the software works pretty much the same, but why does it have to be difficult ?

Unfortunately, Skype chat history doesn’t transfer to Teams automatically. You might be able to access old messages in Skype itself gta south africa, but there's no built-in way to migrate them. Have you checked if your chats are still visible in the Skype app or web version.
