Microsoft Teams Files
Hello! I apologize if this has been asked and answered. I couldn't find this specific question when searching through posts. My office uses Teams to share files that everyone needs access to. Some of my colleagues find it confusing when their documents stored on their computer show up in Teams, often thinking their documents have been shared with the whole organization. Is there a way to prevent this? The goal is to only have shared Teams files show up in Teams. Thank you!
- Kelly_EdingerBronze ContributorTeams is a platform that displays several services so that folks don't have to jump around to multiple areas to get work done: calendar from Outlook/Exchange, files from SharePoint, the logged in users OneDrive (under 'Files' in left navigation) as well as the user's downloads on their computers.
Being able to access something in Teams doesn't necessarily mean that others can access. If they are seeing their files in the 'Files' tab in a Team channel, then it is likely shared with everyone unless they set unique permissions. Verify where they are seeing their files and maybe share this with everyone: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/explore-the-files-list-in-microsoft-teams-287ba970-2bdf-473d-a2da-76247ea4cf8f
Hope that helps!
