Teams uses the Graph API https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/reportroot-getteamsuseractivityuserdetail?view=graph-rest-1.0 to generate user activity reports. I think the minimum reporting period is 7 days and the data is always a couple of days behind real time. An example of using the API with PowerShell can be found in the Microsoft 365 User Activity Report script (see https://office365itpros.com/2022/08/08/microsoft-365-user-activity-2022/)
