@mention someone in Chats in order to add one to the conversation
Hi, We've noticed that while we have an UI way of adding someone to the conversation, we can't do so by @mentioning. Why is that?

You can't @ in chat, but you can in a team conversation. I guess I'm in 2 minds as to whether you would want to @ in chat, if this invited them to your chat they would see all that went before and this might not be what you want.

The inconsistency of not being able to \@mention someone in a chat is frustrating. It kinda looks like it's working, because it highlights and emboldens the following word, but it really isn't doing anything. Am I mentioning the guy or not? I have no **bleep** idea? The UI needs work. MS should make it more clear how mentioning is done.

Agree, very not intuitive, MS need to try harder if they want to dethrone Slack
