Leaving my college keeping my quizzes
Hi GillH3-
If the quizzes were created using Microsoft Forms within a Team, they are usually owned by the account that created them. If you are leaving the organization and your account will be deleted, you should transfer or copy them before that happens.
Here are the most common options:
Option 1 – Move the form to a group (recommended)
If the quiz is currently owned by you, you can move it to a Microsoft 365 Group or Team so it remains accessible after you leave.
Steps:
- Go to Microsoft Forms.
- Open the quiz.
- Select More options (…).
- Choose Move and select the Team or Group.
This transfers ownership from your personal account to the group.
Option 2 – Copy the quiz to a personal Microsoft account
If you want to keep a copy for yourself:
- Open the quiz in Microsoft Forms.
- Select Share.
- Use Share as a template.
- Open that link while signed in with your personal Microsoft account and create a copy.
Option 3 – Export results or content
You can also export responses to Excel or manually recreate the quiz if needed.
Important note:
Once your college account is disabled or deleted, you will no longer be able to access forms owned by that account, so make sure to transfer or copy them before leaving.
For most people leaving an organization, using “Share as template” and copying it to a personal account is the simplest way to keep their quizzes.
