How do you delete team members from a team or channel?

I am setting up our teams and channels. I used a Sharepoint group to make a team and there were members in this Sharepoint that needed to be removed. I removed the users from our 365 Sharepoint group but these users are still showing up in Teams. Is there a way to delete these users out of this team? Do we need to delete this and start over?
