Guest to a channel can not use chat in meeting
We are interested in having a member of Head teachers or some one "on call" being able to be asked to join a live lesson. ( this is if there is any issues in the lesson) the problem is that because that person who is invited isnt a member of that team, they are unable to see the chat of write in the chat. ---
is there a way around this.

Not really. Since it's a channel meeting the chat is really a conversation in the posts tab in that channel in Teams. SO I guess there's two ways.
Add them temporarily to the Team or create a private meeting when this will be needed!
