Granting user Owner role for a Teams from sharepoint site will not get reflected inside Team app

Inside Office 365 admin center i created a new Microsoft Teams >> where new office 365 group got created + new SharePoint site got created. Then I login to the sharepoint site using office 365 admin ...

Because these are not the same! The owner role in Teams is not the same as the owners group in SP!

Also just use Teams to add/change membership and types! Its the fastest way! No need to do anything like this from SharePoint when it’s about the Office 365 group

I think he meant he added the user as Owner in the Office 365 Group, so he is correct with his asumptiom...I can only think you are having some delays when propagating the update in the Office 365 Group to the Team

    jcgonzalezmartini meant i granted the user Owner permission on the Office 365 group through sharepoint site using this option:-

     

    this options is available to us, but seems most users do not know about it. and adding users in this way will add the user to the office 365 group + MS Teams + Teams desktop app, but when i changed the role from member to owner, this change did not get reflected inside Teams app, while got reflected inside Office 365 group & MS Teams inside admin center...

      Yes and no! Adding members to the group from everywhere Will reflect also in teams! But regarding the owners group this is not the same as a teams owner!

        adam deltinger  No it is Yes and Yes. i am not saying to add the user as owner inside the sharepoint Owner group, i am saying add a user in this way from sharepoint site:-

         

        After that alter his role from sharepoint site to be Owner instead of member as follow:-

         

        this will define the user as an owner on Office 365 and MS Teams.... but seems this will not get reflected on Team desktop app (which is my question).. did u try this ? or you are just writing what u already know?

    The owner group in the groupnitself is AFAIK reflexted to the site collection admin for the site in SP! So the user needs to be added to the member sektion too kn order to show up in teams..What I can recall being an owner of the group dont reflect the owner status in Teams?

      adam deltingerYou are missing an option that is found in sharepoint sites, that you can add members and/or owners to the Office 365, using this option:-

       

      where the option "Add members to group" will add/remove users from the underlying office 365, while the second option "share site only" will affect the sharepoint site only!!.. also after adding users to the group, you can alter their permission from the sharepoint site as well using this option:-

       

      check those so you can understand the situation and my question better.
