False positive: Teams can't hear you
- Oct 29, 2021My conclusion is that there is no option to turn of this warning, and the algorithm behind the warning does not take into account the model of the microphone.
The correct device is in use - because if I use any other microphone the noise level will prevent the notification from showing.
The microphone level is set to 85% - higher will make my voice too loud, I'm 15-20 cm from the microphone.
Noise suppression is set at auto - though I really hope the the algorithm is applied before the noise suppression, It would be really strange to first remove the noise and the then to warn about there not being any noise.
I've made a test call but the notification is only appearing few times, maybe once a day in the middle of the meeting.
There is no problem with audio quality or volume level during meetings.
It's just that I'm silent when listening and don't want a notification about the microphone being disconnected when it's not. Although I sometimes makes noise while listening I rather not do that in meetings with many people.
