Deploying custom meeting backgrounds to all users
- Sep 25, 2020So for those following at home. I couldn't get the GPO copy option to work properly to get the files into the destination folder, so we've gone with packaging up the backgrounds and deploying via Active Setup
JamieHosley Hey, haven't done this but agree that pushing the pictures to the clients location should be the way to go (per now at least).
Just a heads up, if I'm not mistaking if a user never has used a background the directories (background/uploads) hasn't been populated so you would have to create these for them. And you can't change the default, the user will need to select a custom background.
And while I'm at it. This is available as an add-on to customize the experience further, such as customized lobby etc. Perhaps they will add the "background branding" feature as well.

ChristianBergstrom - If a user has never used a Teams background there is an issue I have ran into and cannot find a working solution. First, as you had stated the directory to Background\Uploads is not available if the user has never used the backgrounds feature. Using an Intune script, I create the directory path and upload custom backgrounds to the Background\Uploads folder, but the custom pre-uploaded contents are deleted when the user decides to use Teams backgrounds for the first time. This process works fine when the user has already used the background feature before receiving the content push from Intune.
Is there any way to pre-create the path and upload the content and prevent Teams from deleting the contents when a user is first accessing the backgrounds' feature/function?
