Delete documents in posts
Hey,
my OneDrive folder is pretty full of just files that I used once in Channels
Is it possible to delete these files automatically after a month or disable the saving in OneDrive.
It also would help if I can create a folder with all the document that are sended via post.
Hope someone can help
Cheerse
OneDrive will store files you have shared via private/group chats.
When shared, if the file did not already exist in your OneDrive it will be placed in a folder "Microsoft Teams Chat Files". This files will not be automatically deleted and will stay in your OneDrive even after you leave the private/group chat.
Files that you have shared via channels will not exist in OneDrive, they are stored in the SharePoint site associated with the Microsoft Teams team channel. However, if the files were originally in your OneDrive, prior to sharing within a channel, a copy of the file is added to the SharePoint site, the original file is left in place within OneDrive. These files will stay in your OneDrive until you delete them, an org retention policy deletes them or you leave the organisation.
A suggestion, create a folder in OneDrive to put such files in, then use either Power Automate or a Retention label, to automatically delete after a month.
