Copy Recurring Meeting with Teams Meeting

Is it possible to copy a recurring meeting that contains a Team meeting block in it to a new set of recurring dates?  For instance, a year long 1:1 recurring meeting in 2020, if i copy that meeting invite in Outlook to 2021 in January and set it as a new recurrence from Jan to Dec of 2021, will the Teams meeting continue to work into 2021? It seems to keep the same conference ID when being copied. so I'm concerned that the end date of the original series will cause the Teams meeting to stop working after X period of time.

  • Hi jwesener2

Yes, it will continue to work in a sense. The original recurring series will end, but the new one will start. To note though, whilst the details would work there would be a separate associated chat and meeting notes that wouldn't continue from the previous series - so you may just want to extend the dates of the original series to cover 2021 if you wanted that kind of continuity

Hope that makes sense and answers your question

    Best, Chris
