Copy Link to Thread - sometimes yes and sometimes no... ?

Hi folks - as a former Teams user who's been on Slack for 2+ years and now returning to Teams, I'm finding myself missing a few things. One is the ability to copy a link to a thread universally. I can do so easily in a public channel and a chat using the "Copy Link" option from the context menu, but not so in a private or shared channel. Interestingly, in those places you can share to Outlook, which creates a link that ultimately does jump you to the thread (if you have permissions to be there), but no "Copy Link" option directly. Odd choice, MSFT.

Does anyone know the general rules that govern when and why you'd expect to see that context menu item? I've seen a few other threads with users hoping it would be more universally available, but not much regarding the logic for where it's allowed now.

Thanks for the reply, Andres! Given that we can also link to threads in Chat (both individual and group), have you ever caught wind of any reason why the option isn't available in private and shared channels?
      • I also would like to be able to have it on the other channel types, I hope it's coming soon
