Copilot in Teams /Preview /Premium
Background:
I'm Sysadmin for a nonprofit Organization. I have enabled Teams in Preview from the start, and recently upgraded to Premium.
From what I could understand, introduction of AI in Teams (either Premium or Preview) should result in additional features handled through Copilot.
While browsing in search of different how-to guides to make the most of it, I noticed that my Teams interface is missing the Copilot icon entirely, and all the additional features I was eager to test in the upcoming meetings are neither available, nor can be activated.
Basically, both Copilot and its features are nowhere to be found in our Teams Premium.
In the pictures below (found online), I marked in red what we DO NOT have.
No Intelligent Recap in meetings
Or notes...
No conversation summaries
I'm not sure whether this depends on a possible caveat I'm unaware of, but I have checked a re-checked admin settings 10 times, and everything that was supposed to be enabled, actually is.
Anyone who can help me understand what I'm missing?

- AdamK_DCBrass ContributorI decided that to better understand Copilot for Teams, I removed the Teams Premium license from my user account.
Right now, I'm more concerned with the limitations for the Copilot for Teams rollout. It mainly only works for scheduled 1-1 or 1-Many meetings - because you have a legacy chat area after the meeting ends. Thus, you can go back to that meeting, click the Copilot icon, and ask for a recap AFTER THE MEETING ENDS. From what I can tell, you cannot do this with a Channel Meeting or an unscheduled audio or video call. Yes - Copilot is available in those circumstances, but only during the call. Once you hang up - I cannot find a way back to those meetings to query Copilot. I find this to be very limiting. When everyone is hanging up on an unscheduled call or a channel meeting - you tend to do the same thing...hang up. It's only then that you wish to have a meeting recap. And then you discover that it's not available.
Similarly - the "Follow" feature rarely shows up. I haven't seen it yet. But this video shows it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRLskfAG2P4 - tpalongiCopper ContributorI have the same issue, and the answers below do not help. I understand the distinction between Teams Premium and Copilot. I have paid for both, and have received the new Copilot license, and I have assigned it to myself. I know it's working elsewhere, too, because it did pop up in Outlook.
So, thanks for posting this. I will keep an eye out for better answers! - AdamK_DCBrass ContributorTeams Premium and Copilot are two distinct products and licenses. There is overlap between the two when it comes to Teams specifically. Without a copilot license - no copilot featuers will work. But Teams Premium will still allow you to record, transcribe and summarize the meeting.
- Hi,
To have Copilot features with Teams Premium you need Copilot licenses. If you don't have them, you can only expect to see AI Teams Premium features- AICDP_SysadminCopper Contributor
You are correct. Partly.

All of them unrelated to the Copilot license and yet missing in our Teams.
