Can't connect to MS Teams Invite in the App

When I am logged into the free version of MS Teams and have an invite for a meeting, if I click the JOIN button it takes me out of the app and into a browser window.  It then asks if I want to install the app (that is installed, and just left when I click JOIN).   Why can't I connect from the app directly without it opening a Browser window?  Please help!

    When someone send this invite have the sent it the same email ID? or some other ID?

      MadushkaDias they sent it to the same email address that I'm signed into with MS Teams.  

      It's a Yahoo Email address.  That address is what's registered to my Microsoft Account.  I have that Yahoo email address set up in my Outlook on the Windows PC, and that Windows and Microsoft Account is using the same address.
