Can we create a Teams channel and have its membership based on an M365 group?

We have seen some old threads on this topic, but none with an answer.  We were wondering if anyone has found a way to make this work.

We created a Team that uses an M365 Group with dynamic membership.

We would like to set up a private channel that only a subset of the team membership would have access to (eg: a dynamic list including only 1 department).

  • We can create the dynamic list with the subset of people
  • When we click [Add Members] on the Channel, we cannot find a place to enter the dynamic list with the subset of users.

Thanks in advance

MrJohn I haven't seen this for a private channel unfortunately. You'll need to set up a new team for them.

  • Unfortunately the scenario described is not supported in Private channels. There is not a way you can dynamically add members to the private channel based on the Team membership
