Can I download a recording of MS Teams that I was not part of?
Hello,
I am being asked to download a Teams recording of a Teams meeting that I was not part of.
I am trying to find a way to do it via the tenant or via PS but as far as I can tell there is no way of doing this. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is it possible?
Basically, we need to download this file without having access to the original recording or having access to any of the users who participated in the Teams call.
Thank you very much!
- The link points to a personal OneDrive. You have to add permissions to that users OneDrive.
- Where the recording ends up and the permissions to it is decided by the following scenarios https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/tmr-meeting-recording-change#permissions-or-role-based-access
But there are workarounds as an administrator as recordings are stored either in OneDrive or SharePoint, i.e. OneDrive for standard meetings and SharePoint for channel meetings. There's no built-in tool for downloading them.- Audi9112430Copper ContributorHello,
Ok, I have the meeting link which goes to a Sharepoint. When I click the link obviously it tells me I don't have permission to access the file.
How can I go about giving myself (an administrator) access to getting that file?
Thanks!- Give yourself permissions to the SharePoint site where it's located.
