Breakout room issues to assign user to a room
Anyone else seen issues to assign a user to a break out room? Screenshot in Swedish but the "i" say "This user can't access breakout room"
At the time for testing that user was signed in to Teams with an external identity and used Edge browser.
Ended meeting and rejoined and this time it worked but that is not the case all the time. Issue seems to be random.
This happens quite often last couple of months, anyone seen this?

I got this back från MS support, seems a signed in Teams free users can't be assigned. :(
"Breakout Rooms do not support users with Teams Free accounts due to product limitations"
"Currently, the only workaround is to use the browser in an incognito or private tab, or without signing into the browser, which will allow the user to join the Breakout Rooms."

Users cannot be assigned in ~80% to break out rooms. All users have new Microsoft Teams (v2) and do not use MS Teams Classic anymore.
Microsoft support does not give any workaround or solution.

There's quite a lot of people facing frustration by the breakout room issue. I have made a thread myself, and there are others posted too.
I was wondering if you have an update on the issue, and how you confirmed this was a code defect?

- As per the product group team, this has been identified as code defect and the ETA for fix is mid of November 2024.
was there ever a fix for this? we have big problems with external guests and breakout rooms
