Announced today: 7x7 video / breakout rooms are coming in the fall
There are some exciting features coming to Microsoft Teams.

ncotela23 - Good question. These features are for EDU tenants as well as commercial tenants.
There is no set date yet - obviously the team would like to get them out the door as soon as possible. We want to ensure we do ample testing to ensure high quality before release. Once we start testing breakout rooms, we may have a better sense of how far out we are.
We do not yet know if these features will be released on the same date - more to come. I recommend following the UserVoice items to see when changes to the status have been made:
