Adding existing AAD guest users to Teams as Guests

We have a few support contractors who have been added to our AAD as guest users for some time.  We are rolling out Teams and would like to add them to some Teams as guests, but we cannot.  Teams seems to think that they are members of our org and need a license. Is there a way to add them as Teams guests?
