Windows 11 and Outlook passwords mismatch
I am a Windows 11 and Outlook 2016 (from Office 2016 package) user. After changing the password for Windows system, the Outlook password no longer works. There is a message asking for password in Outlook. The old password doesn’t work.
Is there any connection between Windows 11 and Outlook passwords? Can this be turned off?

Hi, the Windows sign-in password and the Outlook mailbox password are normally separate unless you are using the same Microsoft or work account for both. Outlook 2016 may simply be trying to use an old saved credential. I would open Credential Manager in Windows, remove saved Office/Outlook credentials, then restart Outlook and sign in with the actual mailbox password. Also check whether the account now requires an app password or modern authentication.
