Form does not exist

I recently printed some leaflets with the QR code and URL to my forms and had 40+ responses.

I had made some minor changes to the form and the outcome of the blue when you scan the form you get an error message that read "the form does now exist".... The thing is ,it does exist. It's not in the deleted bin it's active, it's just upon further exploration I can see the QR code and URL has changed. I have been using the tick box that says make URL shorter...could it be that? Does this change the URL and QR Code every time you press it?

  • The shortened URL is essentially a redirect to your actual form. If Microsoft updates or regenerates that redirect, the original shortened link becomes invalid, it may possible to happen when you re-share the form or make changes that prompt a new sharing link to be created.

    You may consider:

    - Use the full URL instead of the shortened one for printed materials. It’s more stable and less likely to change.
    - If you must use a shortened link, consider using a third-party URL shortener like Bitly or TinyURL, which gives you more control over the link’s permanence.
    - Always test the QR code and link after making any changes to the form, even minor ones.

    Actions:

You can go back to your form, click “Collect Responses,” and copy the current full URL. Then:
    - Generate a new QR code from that full URL.
    - Replace the outdated QR code wherever possible.
If reprinting isn’t an option, you might consider creating a redirect page or using a custom domain that forwards to the current form link.
