  • Try to fix by the following:

    1. Open the Workbook in Excel for the Web
    • Go to Excel Online and open the linked workbook from OneDrive or SharePoint.
    • This will trigger the new sync engine to pull in missing responses.
    1. Update the Sync Connection

If you see a message like “Forms is no longer syncing”, follow these steps:

    • Click the “Update sync in Excel” button in the right-side pane.
    • Wait for the green success bar confirming sync update.
    1. Rename the Workbook (if needed)

    If sync fails:

    • Rename the workbook to remove special characters like #, %, {}, etc.
    • Save and retry the sync update.
    1. Avoid Keeping the File Open Continuously

If someone keeps the Excel file open all the time (especially in desktop Excel), it may block sync. Try closing it and reopening in Excel for the web.

    1. Sync to a New Workbook (if all else fails)
    • Go to the Form’s response page.
    • Click “Sync to new workbook” to create a fresh connection with all responses included.
