Anonymous responses on Office forms: is there any way to have their email or name?
Hi,
I have launched a contest for colleagues but all responses came out anonymous (i had incorrectly unselected that option). I need to find out who send each of the responses. Is there any way we can find out who is behind each of the anonymous responses I got?
Thank you in advance.

Add a text field for Name and Email. Export to Excel and you have Names lined up with responses.

CypherThis but not if the form is set to anonymous. You have to explicitly add those questions. As has been said so many times, if a form is set to anonymous there is no way to get the details of who submitted it.

- rupakkarkiCopper ContributorHi,
I have been trying to use Micosoft form quiz feature to organize objective exam for Interns. Since, they are out of the organization, I have created Name, email and contact number field and kept them mandatory so that I dont miss out who is submitting the responses.
But while trying to use "Post scores" feature, it shows the Name column with Anonymous for all the respondents.
Is there is any way, I can keep email or Name field that I have created in this Post score section?
Thank you in advance.- Guy_BoswellCopper Contributor
I just don't get why MS will not accept we all work with people we know, who have already given us their email addresses but who don't happen to work for the same company???

Not sure if the question is still relevant, I have been forwarded a video that shows how to add a flow and link this to an Anonymous Survey etc on Microsoft forms Not asked my jobs IT people to try it yet, it's a Megan V Walker on YouTube

I have conducted a test in the class and missed to select the option the names in record. now the response showing anonymous. How can I trace the names of the students? Please help..!

10Tenchoe you can't. If a form has been set to anonymous (anyone with a link can respond) instead of people in your organisation only responding then there is no way to find out who submitted the form after the event. If you could could it would be a compliance, legal and a data protection nightmare!

Hi Patrícia, if you adjust the Form settings this should be possible to capture name and email address, as shown on the 'Who can fill out this form" section:
"Two additional options are available if you choose to only allow people in your organization to fill out your form. Select Record name if you want each form response to include the name and email address of the responder. Clear this option if you want to allow anonymous responses to your quiz or form."
So this option isn't available if you want to allow anonymous responses. You may have to check these settings, adjust them as needed and send out a new Form but see how you get on.

Hi,
I set the quiz option with record name but form only capture the email address not the respondent's name. How can I fix this?
- Engr_SamiulllahCopper ContributorI have same problem whith enabled record name option. Ms FORMS showed names of some respondents while it showed emails of remaining ones for same form.
