The types of files that can be created in Copilot Chat, Copilot in Word, and PowerPoint.

frankfalveyThe first sentence of your answer talks about document creation, but then your second sentence talks about uploading files. Just checking you understand the query here - requesting Copilot Chat (Work/Web) create files that you can download?
I've found no evidence so far that Microsoft 'officially' support document creation in Copilot Chat, however it does do it. It's been a bit hit and miss, sometimes blocking the download due to it being an 'external site', but seems to be okay now.
YurinaH, based on my testing, both Copilot Chat 'Web' and Copilot Chat 'Work' successfully created all 4 types - Word (docx), PowerPoint (pptx), Excel (xlsx), text (txt).
For creating files in Word and PowerPoint, it looks like you're trying to use the Copilot sidebar. It's not supported there.
However, when opening a blank Word document, you'll see Copilot prompts you to "Describe what you'd like to write":
Entering text in there will create the Word document using Copilot.
In PowerPoint, on a blank presentation, there's a small Copilot button in the top left of the slide which when you click you get an option to "Create a presentation":
Similarly, describe what you want and it will create it.
Sure, here is a revised version of your text:
Thank you for your quick response, but I am a little bit confused. You mentioned in the previous conversation:
>>Not currently designed to create files like Word docs or PowerPoint decks directly. You can generate content (e.g., text, summaries, outlines) which you can then manually copy into other apps.
Do you mean that it is not designed to create documents, but Copilot can create the documents directly?
