Copilot in MS Word is heavily geared toward editing—adding, deleting, or rewriting—content within the document itself. If you need to incorporate extensive external references, it is advisable to first discuss the plan in Copilot Chat and generate the Word document from scratch. A more reliable approach is to use Cowork directly, as its context management capabilities far surpass the stripped-down version of Copilot found within the app.
