Help Needed: Sharing Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat AI Agent with Colleagues

Hello everyone,

I have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license and have created my own Chat AI Agent using Copilot Chat. This agent is designed primarily for chat responses, with knowledge sourced from a specific website and an internal SharePoint site.

I shared the agent with my colleagues, and they are able to install it. However, when they ask questions, they always receive the response:
"Sorry, I’m unable to respond to that. Is there anything else I can assist you with?"

All these colleagues have access to the SharePoint site, and regardless of whether they have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license or not, they get the same unhelpful answer.

Could someone please advise how I can enable everyone to use this agent properly?

Thank you in advance for your help!

You mentioned that they’ve installed it—just to confirm, do you mean they used the link you shared with them?

Also, did you enable Pay-As-You-Go billing for users who don’t have a license? I’m asking to better understand the impact. Users without a license, and without Pay-As-You-Go enabled, should receive a message stating that a Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required.

    Is this issue still occurring?

Hi, for your colleagues to use the Copilot Chat AI agent properly, they must have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license and belong to the same tenant. In the M365 Admin Center, go to Settings > Copilot, enable Team Sharing, and add their mailboxes. Also, ensure the agent’s permissions allow access to the SharePoint content. This should resolve the issue.

    Hi TinaLee,

We've seen this issue occur over the last week too. Many it's a service issue. Has it resolved for you yet or still happening?

No, I am not Microsoft Admin. Hence I cannot try it now.

In the Microsoft 365 Administrator Center, go to Settings > Copilot→ Enable Team Sharing and then add member mailboxes. It is important to note that you need to make sure that your colleague's accounts belong to the same tenant and have a Copilot Pro license.
