Help.I have 365 Premium subscription, it hasn't expired, but I lost access to Copilot on phone.
Hi HenryJames1 !
Thanks for the detailed description,
I have a feeling I know what happened here.
In Microsoft 365 Family, I believe Copilot is tied only to the subscription owner's account. Shared family members don't get Copilot, it's owner-only by design. When you clicked your own sharing invite on your phone and "joined the sharing," your phone stopped recognising that account as the owner and started treating it as a shared member seat instead. I don't think Shared seats get Copilot, which is why it vanished on the phone but still works on your computer, where you're still signed in as the owner.
To fix it, you might need to remove yourself from the shared members so your account is only the owner again:
- Go to account.microsoft.com and sign in with your owner account.
- Open the Microsoft 365 Family sharing page (Services & subscriptions, then the sharing/family section).
- Look in the list of people you've shared with. If your own account is listed there as a member, stop sharing to yourself / remove it.
- On your phone, fully sign out of the Office and Copilot apps, then sign back in. This refreshes the license.
Let me know if this helps!

Thanks for your reply. On the Microsoft 365 family sharing page, my account is the only member listed as part of the shared group, and it shows me as the family organizer. If I leave, the family group will dissolve. I’ve already tried dissolving it once, then reinstalling and logging back into Office 365 on my phone, but it didn’t work. Office 365 on my phone still shows that I don’t have Copilot access. I think this might be a bug.
